71/11th March

The other side of the room!  It will be finished next tuesday then we have to get the flooring down and move another bedroom into this one and then work starts on the other bedroom.  The process isn't nice but when it is done it is going to be great - as long as Number 3 doesn't have too many problems getting used to the new look room.

70/ 10th March

I have seen some lovely sunsets recently and thought this would be nicer than the carpet shopping photo I would have had today!

69/9th March

The cupboards are getting there!  It's very exciting!  Dirty, dusty, smelly and lots of work but exciting!

68/8th March

A dusk trip to Asda with two of the children and S to get some supplies.  This is of some of the surrounding scenery!

67/ 7th March

Building work underway I went off to my photocourse.  We went to a woodland in an attempt to get some landscape photography and it was a tad unsuccessful.  But I like this photo of the shadows of three of us taking photos.  I did learn about exposure compensation though so it was a successful day overall!  Also fab because S was coming to stay at mine!

66/ 6th March

My anniversary flowers!  Brightening up a spot in our home.  Not a great composition but I was lazy (insert 'very tired and as D was taking number 3 back to his school I had to get ready for the building work that was (unexpectedly) going to start the next morning'). Anyway, thought they deserved a place on the blog!

65/ 5th March

Number 3's breakfast.  It's all about food while he is home! :)  He is gluten free dairy and 'other things' free as well and the yeast free spread has to be sent all the way from Australia!

64/ 4th March

Number 3's birthday and he is home for the weekend - yay!!!!

63/3rd March

My wedding anniversary and the funeral of a special friend's Dad.  It was one of the most beautiful services I have ever been to.  The talks and the music were incredible - there was a very moving spirit of strength and love!

62/2nd March

Visited a popular seaside town with my lovely sister-in-law!  We had lunch at a wonderful vegetarian wholefood cafe - yum!  Looks a mess but tastes great! :)

61/1st march

Bead bokeh!  I made my own texture of leaf bokeh in the woods and then layered it on to the bead photo.   Really want to see how it prints and see if the on screen and print versions are the same!

60/28feb

Little Miss M. trying to be obliging for the camera!  Saw her between going to the photography course and Wagamama's with her Mum. :)

59/27 Feb

Still away from home and it is number 4's birthday!  Missed being there but they waited 'till I got home to celebrate.  Roast dinner and family over for cake!  Above are some of the things I ingested today - in my gluten free, sugar free, (taste free), ever decreasing circle of food, life!

58/365-26feb2011

Whilst I was away and didn't have my D90 with me I set up my L22 that I was given at Christmas and spent some time reading this manual.  Now I have a camera for my handbag - bliss!!!

57/365-25feb2011

I went to stay with a relative today for the weekend to be with them as they were having an out patient operation.  This is a scene from their house.  I love this Lladro ornament and the lovely Narcissi!!!

56/365- 24 feb 2011

Took my niece and my future son in law's sister for an afternoon of fun today.  My daughter came with me and we took the two 9 year olds for a go on the seaside rides, some hot doughnuts, a game of crazy golf and some chips.  We went to the beach to eat our chips and this is the scene we were treated to.  The photo is taken with my phone!

55/365

After a trip of over 200 miles today I arrived home exhausted (had forgotten to take a camera with me) and decided to take a photo of the necklace one of my daughters got me for my birthday and the chic lit she has loaned me!  We had such a fab time together today visiting her brother!

Tuesday 22 February 2011

54/365 Toy Story remake!

Nearly 15 year old son has been sorting his stuff out today in order to pass the toys down to some younger friends.  It's amazing what turns up - and now gets to go to a new home! Yay!!! to the sorting out of stuff but Booooo!!  to the end of an era!

53/365 Birthday cards

Today was my birthday and these were some of my cards that had arrived in the post!  A bittersweet day with nice times with my family and lunch with a friend but also some sad news and my health is not so good!

Sunday 20 February 2011

52/365 Some colour!

Just for Stella - some colour!  :)  Haven't stepped away from the bokeh yet but largely that is because I am taking my photo late in the day and need the aperture wide open in order not to have to use the flash!
This is my RNLI rose right now.  It is beautiful!!

Saturday 19 February 2011

51/365 Teacup

I've been enjoying Red Bush herbal tea lately and this is my preferred cup!

Friday 18 February 2011

50/365 Spring has sprung!

This lovely sign of spring is poking over our fence from our neighbours garden.  Love it - roll on some lovely warm sunshine!!!

Thursday 17 February 2011

49/365 Torch light

Wish I'd thought of this on valentine's day!!  Playing with light - One son, one torch, one camera and tripod, lots of laughs!

Wednesday 16 February 2011

48/365 Animal!

The weather was really beautiful this morning and I lugged my camera around on all my errands  in the hope of a good photo opportunity.  It really hurt as I was in pain anyway and ended up carrying lots of heavy stuff.  Eventually I thought it had paid off and I saw a really good potential photo - went to take it and..... no memory card!!!! Again!!!!  I have to get into the habit of replacing it straight away!!!  Anyway, felt a bit rubbish and had to do an indoor photo again but never mind as I really like my animal belt - I got it in one of the surf outlet centres in Devon!

Tuesday 15 February 2011

47/365 Control tower to Gull 1 - You may now make your way onto the runway!

The weather was - yes, you guessed it - grey and rainy so I went and had a cup of soup at the seafront after a busy morning and took photo's through the open car window and then practiced the HDR techniques I learned yesterday!

Monday 14 February 2011

45/365 HDR

HDR week at the photo course today!  We went through the basics on HDR then went to the local graveyard to take photos (learnt something new about my camera in the process - always a good thing) and then came back to class to edit.  It is great to know how to do this although I don't always like HDR photos!  However, when it is done well it can be fabulous!  Here are some of the other photos I took with the before and after shots.

Sunday 13 February 2011

44/365 Amarylis

Went to lunch at a friend's today - she's from scotland and fed us haggis, neeps and tatties!  Delicious!  By the window she had this beautiful Amarylis.

Saturday 12 February 2011

43/365

So, D and I were at the shops and I'd just finished saying don't get me a rose for valentine's day when we ran into the RNLI money raising stall and they had single stem roses for a £1.  Well, we have supported the RNLI ever since they saved D's brother from drowning over a decade ago - so here it is........ the RNLI Valentine's Rose!

Friday 11 February 2011

42/365

Spent the day cleaning today - to a deadline - and so once again didn't get to the camera until it was dark.  This is a handmade brooch made for me by a friend and given to me on my birthday.

Thursday 10 February 2011

41/365 Rain on the windscreen

I went for a bit of impressionism in grey and rainy land today.  (Someone said to me today that the more progressive way of thinking is that grey and rainy is really Silver and Cleansing!  :)) I'm learning to love it!!!) This is an entrance to a piece of wooded land near my home taken from inside the car with different focus on the raindrops on the windscreen and I've upped the saturation. It needs a lot more editing but I don't have time and also the photos aren't really worth it but I got to practice and play for a few moments and in some ways that is what the 365 project is all about.

Wednesday 9 February 2011

40/365 Bedroom radiator

So, my photographic life is getting a bit sad!  I need to get out of the house with my camera!!!  The texture on this is not my favourite when the photo is big but I like it small.  And sorry Stella but the 50mm on a large aperture was the only way to go with this shot! Lol!!  I cannot step away from the bokeh.....yet!!!

Tuesday 8 February 2011

39/365

This little box sits on my bedroom windowsill.  It is made by a local artist in McLaren Vale, South Australia.  It is made from Jarra wood (Australian mahogany) and I love it!

Monday 7 February 2011

38/365

Today at the photocourse, instead of doing landscape photography in the woods ( it was raining), we did a question and answer day and learned to apply textures in layers.  We took some photos around the campus and blended them together. This photo is a blend of these two photos.  Check out Stella's photo Here of the lock it's brilliant!

Sunday 6 February 2011

37/365

A house filled with lovely young friends and family tonight!  An exhausting but a good day!

Saturday 5 February 2011

36/365 Heart shaped face

Wedding dress bought!!!!  Maybe I'll have a bit more time to plan my photo's now!  Want to do some natural light photo's but am enjoying the tripod!

Friday 4 February 2011

35/365 Mexican

Delicious mexican wraps for dinner tonight.  Love my 'heart' chicken bowl!

Thursday 3 February 2011

34/365

I tried to edit this in different ways because it was a bit of a boring photo on it's own. I like the way this edit emphasizes the shadow.   This is the sort of present I get from my friends! :))

Wednesday 2 February 2011

33/365~2feb2011 Potato masher face

Desperation is forcing me to use kitchen utensils in my photos!!  Edited this from 'raw' in photoshop with the skills I learned at my course on Monday!

Tuesday 1 February 2011

32/365 All things wedding!

My life for the last month has been pretty much dominated by preparations and plans for my daughter's wedding.  So, after an exhausting day I decided (with the help of a friend here) that my photo would be some of the paraphernalia I am collecting to do with wedding planning and ideas!

Monday 31 January 2011

31/365

Today in the digital imaging course I am doing we had to go into the carpark and take pictures to edit.  It was a bit bleak !  Still, these tree branches have a bit of 'mood' about them!

Sunday 30 January 2011

30/365

This was the first photo with my new tripod and was playing about in low light.  However, it is heavily edited just because I wanted to practice in photoshop!

Friday 28 January 2011

28/365

Went to babysit a friends puppy today for a couple of hours.  She's a Cockerpoo - Cocker spaniel x Poodle.  Very cute and this is the look I got when I had to put her back in her puppy pen.

Thursday 27 January 2011

27/365

I took this on Aperture priority about F2.8.  Saw these little pussy willows sparkling in the winter sunshine and had to stop and try to capture them.

Wednesday 26 January 2011

26/365 Kitchen face

Today I had the most amazing photo lined up and clicked the shutter and nothing happened ............ no memory card!!!!!!!  There's a life lesson!  So, when I got home and realized that the memory card was in the camera and there had been a very perplexing glitch I was left with the task of making a photo in less than favourable light.  I took my inspiration from a Flikr group I saw recently called 'kitchen faces'.

Tuesday 25 January 2011

25of365 The Family Curse

We have various food intolerances in my family and sugar is one of them.  Luckily for us there are some alternatives on the market!

Monday 24 January 2011

24/365 Shopping Centre Ceiling

After a very good but exhausting day S and I went to the shopping centre and realized this was going to be the only opportunity to take our daily photo  I just snapped and didn't really have time to make sure it was in focus or well composed.  Still, it was fun editing it and trying to make the most of the colours and shapes.
